Chances are that if your grandfather was a Texas cowboy, you have a great chance of following suit. Now, add some creative genetics in the mix, be raised on a ranch in Arizona, where a donkey was your best friend, her horse, not a bike, was her transportation as a kid.  This is the soul of Marless Fellows as an artist and the birth of her appropriate tag line “Lasso the West in Art”.

Marless began her career long before she was aware of it.  Her salt- of- the- earth upbringing taught her the beauty and joy of the west.  Between barrel racing and entertaining her four-legged beasts, being her best friends, she made time to study art under dozens of accomplished artists at the prestigious Scottsdale Artist School.

Over the 30 years of her art career, western lifestyle, horses, portraits, working cowboys, and donkeys (Marless’ specialty) won and brought Fellows her share of blue ribbons.

Marless has been chosen twice as Arizona Cowboy Poets artist for the year. This award connected her with poets that she invited to collaborate with her and she authored a book called “A Handshake is Enough”, sharing poetry inspired by Fellows paintings.

Fellows was also the proud owner of “Saddle Up” western art gallery in Cave Creek, Arizona, featuring her oils along with many other accomplished artists.  Marless has managed to teach art classes and loves to share her techniques.

Marless has been an exhibitor for the last 14 years at the Arizona Fine Art Expo, a 75 day exhibition in Scottsdale, AZ and since 2006 Hidden in the Hills, artist’s studio tour during the  fall of each year that intrigues many to visit her host studio and for 2025 she has been chosen to exhibit at the Cowgirl Up show at Desert Caballeros Western Art Museum in Wickenburg, AZ.
