Julianne Wade is a painter based in Scottsdale, Arizona. She is inspired by the fragility and strength of the natural world and most recently, the colors, textures, and moods of the desert. Her current body of work is created with a tonal, earth-inspired palette on wood or stretched canvas. The paintings come alive through delicate layers of brushwork that unify figure, landscape, wildlife, and botanical forms.
Julianne earned her MFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design, and during her studies there was part of the Low Residency program at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown. Originally from Massachusetts, she studied painting at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston. Julianne also works as an independent teacher offering art instruction to all ages. Her work has been featured in private collections, galleries, and museums in the Northeast and Southwest.
βThe figures in my paintings entwine with flora & fauna. Both fragile and strong, they are overgrown by and composed of the landscape. In my work I seek to create a space of beauty and solace, one in which viewers may experience a sense of reverence and connection.β
