Joe McManis has always considered his life as a painting in progress, changing composition and colors with every new experience. His background in graphic design has shaped his approach to painting and continues to inform his work. He received his BFA from MIU in Iowa where he studied painting and sculpture, along with a minor in art history.
“I paint with acrylic on canvas, primarily with a palette knife applying thick layers of paint in vibrant colors. My art is an invitation to explore the boundless possibilities between the intersection of abstraction and contemporary interpretations of the natural world.”
