DOUG FOUNTAIN

Doug's work is inspired by his native American heritage as a proud member of the Spirit Lake Sioux Tribe of North Dakota. His people believe that we all have so much in our lives to be thankful for.  He incorporates that energy into his work.                                                                                                      

Every dot is a prayer of thankfulness, the triangle eye represents unity, the rectangle eye represents family and the circle of the mouth happiness

He creates extraordinary one of kind pieces using color, natural feathers, gourds and a textured layered Venetian plaster.  His feathers include Tiger Tail, Pheasant, Turkey, Guinea, Macaw, Amazon parrots and many other varieties. They are purchased from bird aviaries, which are the fallen feathers from the birds.  All feathers have been hand selected, hand washed, trimmed and varnished.
