I studied Art at Mills College and Hofstra University, graduating with a Bachelors in Art Education. I taught Art in New York, California and Arizona. I paint with acrylics in series of desert scenes, musical instruments and dogs with unique outlooks.
My most recent dog series is done using my new technique of separating the pigment from the acrylic paint and then merging them together. I developed this method about a year ago. It involves dry pigment applied in many layers and then changing that pigment into acrylic paint, by painting several applications of clear acrylic medium. I find that by separating the dry pigment from the clear acrylic medium I am able to create intense color and have more detail control.
I want my paintings to bring joy and provide the viewer with an escape from our uncertain world, a retreat into a magical place of color and happiness.
