Specializing in oil paintings, I have studied at Scottsdale Artists’ School under renowned artists’ such as Joseph Loruso, Clayton Beck III, John Burton, Carolyn Anderson. My passion is and always will be figure painting. It’s the hardest and yet the most rewarding for me.
Growing up being a young cowgirl, it was just my natural course to want paint western art. I love horses and grew up with them. I’m also drawn to the life of the cowboy and his easy slow speaking gentleness. The majority of Cowboys are down to earth hard working ‘good Ole boys’. My paintings are always colorful and somewhat detailed but as I follow this journey I see myself getting more loose and free. I love the fact that I can leave certain things out and allow my viewer to create in his own mind the finished stroke. Sometimes it’s obvious and sometimes it’s not. It makes my viewers involved and a part of the painting. As time goes by I urge you as a viewer to look at my paintings with that thought in mind. Look at the colors, are they real? We as artist are just interpreters of what we see with our own eyes.
