The artist Andrew Hamilton once wrote:  ”The tip of your brush is the tip of your soul”—and so it is for Pat Stacy, an artist who paints with much color as well as her inner self.  Her work is contemporary, abstract, and contains symbols that communicate her gratitude for universal creative expression.  You will find an Entity touched by the light of the Creator in all of her recent work with the light of the Creator coming into the painting sometimes expressed by descending golden squares. Spirals represent the journey to the center of our being, and triple spirals or triskelions may have many meanings.   Pat prefers the maiden, mother, crone representation told to her when she purchased earrings of similar design in Ireland.

Pat’s work is primarily acrylic on both canvas and paper and occasionally mixed media.  Her work has many layers of transparent paint layered with more opaque paint to give it depth and character.  Usually done over a textured background, her work is often based on geometric shapes and designs.     Pat’s Entities may be an integral part of the painting, or may be more elusive and hard to find due to the types of paint she uses.  This type of paint also adds colors to her bubbles making them like natural bubbles and breaking into rainbows.  She uses metallic paints to add shine and interest to her work.  All of her paintings have a UV coating in the final layers.

Pat is a graduate of Arizona State University and is a Licensed Professional Counselor.  In 2008, Pat was at a crossroads in her life due to ill health when she picked up a brush and discovered her artistic self.  She immersed herself in the colors daily and found her passion.  And passionate she is about her painting, painting for several hours each day and studying with master artists to increase her skills and understanding.  She is a juried artist with both the Arizona Art Alliance and the Sonoran Arts League, and an award winner in juried shows.
